Hartlepool Mail, the local paper have been following my story of sight loss since early last year.

If you want to find out what happened to my sight and how the blindness was cuased by medication i had been on for years.

Here are links to the articles :

The first article after I found out my sight was deteriating. This was an article about me participating in the cancer research race for life :

Life in the shade. This next article focusses on the sight loss. At this time we thought it was my original eye conditions photophobia, and nystagmus getting worse.

Another article was published in april focussing on how the sight loss was getting worse and that by now Drs did not know what was causing it. The article talked about how I was now learning braille and introduced my fiance, Phill Ward who is also blind. The article talked about how braille meant that phill and I could send each other cards, letters and label presents to each other and so not need someone else to read them too us. There were pictures of my paintings and ceramics and mention of how I was incorporating braille into my art work.

This article doesn't appear on the Mail's website.

The final chapter - regaining my sight!

What is visionlessart?

www.visionlessart.org.uk is my website where I show my art work. You can view my work (photography, film work, digital art, painting, ceramics and more), and comment on anything you like, or hate, about my work.

I also offer a description service for artists and venues who wish to make their Art accessible to visually impaired people. A description of a art piece allows visually imapaired people 'see' the image and experience Art like sighted people.

This is something more and more venues, exhibitions and artists are doing in order to make their work accessible and in keeping with the Disability Discrimination Act.
